Christie Bruno
Christie Bruno

Christie Bruno is a law enforcement professional with 25 years of experience.  She currently serves as the Accreditation Manager for the Carnegie Mellon University Police Department.

​

Prior to her appointment as Accreditation Manager with CMU PD, Christie served as a Detective/Accreditation Manager for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.  Christie began her law enforcement career with the Pittsburgh Housing Authority Police in 1997.  In 2000, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police employed her.

1998-2000, Christie worked as part of the accreditation team for the Pittsburgh Housing Authority Police to obtain accreditation through CALEA. 

​

2000-2005 – Christie worked patrol and undercover narcotics and prostitution operations for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

​

2005 – 2014 – Christie was responsible for planning, writing, and executing all operational orders for special events and managing all secondary employment. 

​

2014 - 2022, Christie served as the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s accreditation manager, for the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association's Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. In addition to accreditation, Christie was responsible for the PBP’s policy management, worked as an adjunct instructor at the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Training Academy and assisted with the department’s annual Cops and Kids Camps.

 

Christie currently serves as an active member and assessor with the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association through their Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.  Christie has over 8 years of experience with PowerDMS.  She obtained her Professional Certificate through PowerDMS in March 2021. She has assisted with many mock assessments both in-person and remotely and has served on several on-site assessment teams.

Christie holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and an Elementary Education Teaching Certificate from Chatham College.

Jennifer Ford
Jennifer Ford

Jennifer Ford is a law enforcement professional with 32 years of experience. She currently serves as the Captain of Administration for the Peters Township Police Department, a suburban police department south of Pittsburgh, PA.

 

Prior to her appointment as Captain, Jennifer served as a Police Commander for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.  Jennifer began her career as a police officer for the City of Pittsburgh in 1990 and served in every rank up to the rank of Commander.  Her service in the patrol division included Community Oriented Policing and the Mounted Patrol.  In addition to patrol, Jennifer led the Training Academy for the Pittsburgh Police and assisted with the Police Bureau’s 5-year plan, part of the Act 47 (Financially Distressed Municipalities Act) Plan for the City of Pittsburgh.  Jennifer served in the Research and Planning Section of the Bureau of Police where she was responsible for policy writing, accreditation management, secondary employment, as well as management of the Pittsburgh Police Intelligence Unit.  She currently oversees the Administration Section of the Peters Township Police Department which includes training, policies, accreditation, community programs and the School Resource Officers.

 

Jennifer received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.  She went on to receive her Master’s degree in Adult and Community Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is also a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police.

 

Jennifer has been an Assessor for the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission for 13 years and an Accreditation Manager for 22 years.  She has assisted with many mock assessments both in-person and remotely and has served on numerous on-site assessment teams across the state.  Jennifer has over 11 years of experience with PowerDMS and recently completed the company’s Certified Professional Program.  She currently serves on the Pennsylvania Police Accreditation Coalition’s Mock Assessment Review Committee.
